Our 9th annual New Zealand event is over for another year.
The overall ratings for the sessions averaged 3 and 4 (Great and Awesome); which shows we hit the mark on the speakers and content this year. With such a diverse audience, it is hard to provide enough variety for everyone, so this was pleasing to see.
A few indicated they wanted to see a few more techy sessions, which we will work on for next year. Other feedback included – wanting some more introductory “How do I…” sessions for smaller businesses and those new to O365, and more case studies showing how the tools are being used.
People enjoyed the exhibitor booths, being able to see what was happening and talk directly to people about their challenges – if anything, the request was for more!
- Christian Buckley – both for his Keynote presentation, and subsequent sessions on Collaboration and Productivity Tips.
- Benjamin Niaulin – a conference favourite we were lucky to have return; Benjamin impressed everyone with his Groups/Teams conversation, de-mystifying the terms and how they might be used.
A few interesting topics in the Thought Leadership track got great attendance, highlighting the importance of soft skills in the Digital Workplace.
- Oscar Trimboli – on Deep Listening
- James Robertson – on The Employee Experience
- Lee Stevens – outlining the need for Digital Strategy
all got rave reviews from the attendees!
There were of course many more sessions, all of which sparked intrigue, motivation and got us all thinking!
So what’s next?
Australia – here we come!
It has been great to undertake agenda planning right on the back of a conference – taking the feedback, session evaluations and comments and using it all when deciding what, where, and who for the Australian event.
No stopping for a breather means we have an Agenda nearly complete – this year we have included 4 tracks, to give us the dedicated Thought Leadership with a ton of soft skills and thought-provoking content, and an additional dedicated Technical Deep Dive stream.
We are lucky enough to have Christian Buckley back; his reception in NZ was awesome, so we look forward to hearing his sessions for DWCAU.
Also, Susan Hanley, knowledge management and collaboration expert from USA, spoke at the NZ event last year, and comes to Sydney again this year. She is presenting on Governance & Training, and Knowledge Management – with an ALL-day Information Architecture Workshop post-event!
All the way from Canada – author and internationally recognised SharePoint and Office 365 guru, Vlad Catrinescu will be presenting on Powershell for O365, SharePoint Hybrid and also an ALL-day Automate your Business Processes Workshop. This workshop is a must for anyone wanting to learn about SharePoint Designer Workflows, and the NEW apps – Flow and PowerApps.
We are really excited to have these influential and respected speakers at our event, alongside the usual awesome line-up of local and industry experts. Don’t miss this chance to learn and be inspired!
